I am indexing Latin documents in Terni. Do you think I should change the name from the Latin declension version to the Italian version of the name?

What I think the index should be is:

Event: Marriage

Date: 2 June 1730

Groom: Giuseppe de Cavoli, pa Bernardo and ma Agata

Bride: Felice, pa Belnardo Raimundo and ma Filiponia Zoccoli

What do you think?

If you were adding it as a source to a genealogical record, I would at least list how the names are written in Latin and then maybe in brackets provide the Italian name equivalent

BTW you have this quite wrong.

Giovanni (the Latin given is an abbreviation of Joannes) de Cavolis is the priest performing the ceremony. He is the rector of the parish church of Santi Andrea e Agata (https://siusa.archivi.beniculturali.it/cgi-bin/siusa/pagina.pl?TipoPag=prodente&Chiave=50925&RicProgetto=reg%2Dumb)

The bride is Felice Raimundi and her father is Belardus (it says Belardi, which is the genitive of Belardus), or Belardo in Italian, which is a variation of Berardo - https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berardo

There are no mothers listed.

The groom is Filippo Zuccoli (Philippum is accusative of Philippus). If it were the mother it would not be accusative, it would be genitive, and would be a feminine form, so Philippae. Having a hard time getting his father's name though. I thought maybe his parents were unknown but what I was reading as parentibus in the second-to-last line I think is actually pr[aes]entibus, the beginning of the list of witnesses, as the last word in the entry is testibus.

I would need to see more entries to get a sense of the formula they use in order to have a better idea of what it says after the groom's name. It's unusual in my experience to see the bride listed first.

I did study the declensions, then got caught up in transcribing it and forgot to use them.

I forgot to include the link. I only included the image.

I am asking because there are no instructions for the latin indexing. The welcome statement says it is Italian.

Which indexing project is it? If it says Italian and includes Latin records, you should post in the indexing community: https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/indexing-support

Be sure to include a batch code with your post. Most project instructions say to index names exactly as written though.

BTW, in the Terni general project instructions say this regarding names:

• Digita i nomi così come sono scritti. Non correggere gli errori di ortografia e non scrivere per esteso le abbreviazioni se non indicato altrimenti nelle istruzioni del progetto.

(Write the names exactly as they are written. Do not correct spelling errors and do not write out abbreviations unless otherwise indicated in the project instructions.)
