On 16 May 1812 Tomasz Bednarek, a 70 year old peasant chimney sweep, presented himself before us, along with Wojciech Paluch, 60 years old, a peasant farmer, both residing in Leszczyna, and they testified that yesterday at 6:00 in the morning died the Slawetny (translates to famous, but in this case the term refers to the deceased’s status as a locally well-known craftsman?) Jakob Kawecki, 40 years old, a blacksmith, a married man. He died in is house number 14 in the village Leszczyna, born in the village Drobnice in the county Wilk(??)
After convincing myself of this death, the record was read and signed by us:
Father Jozef de Lotro - Dziekan Wartski Probacza (Parish deacon?)
