Will the Quality Standard check that place names are correct for the time?
I'm working this week on a family that was born in Hungary in the mid-18th century. Another contributor has done some good work on this family but used modern place names in Serbia.
Will the Quality Standards be expanded to check that as well? LHMD-8Q4

Does that place have historical time periods in the Places database? Could they have used the older name? (I assume so, just being to lazy to personally check. Also, I don't know anything about the area.)
Would this mean that FamilySearch would be forced to take a stand in the Historical Name vs Modern Name debates?

Yes, the historical names are in the Places database. I'm using them when I attach newly found records to the profiles.
In new work I do, I try very hard to use the place name as it was at the time, but I don't usually change the name someone else has used on an existing profile.
[Edit to add] I'm not suggesting the routine should check or that FS should take a stand. Merely wondered because I happened to be working on such a family this week at the same time as we started testing the new option.

Thank you once again for your feedback. The short-term solution for this is to grant leniency on time and place issues. Thank you for your continued patience while the engineers continue to improve this tool.
