Can someone in Minnesota with historic information about Kaoline Catherine Schober who married
Death: 21 Nov 1948 in Anoka, MN. Married Charles Frederick Leider Nov 1888 in Minneapolis. 11 children. Parents unknown. Siblings unknown. Port of entry was Baltimore in 1887 but I do not have any info on exit from Prussia or Germany. Lived in a hospital last year plus of her life. Hopeing that some agency, group, or ?? Could have written something about her or her life before coming alone as 17 year old to America and directly to Minnesota. A witness of her marriage is supposed to be related. Can someone direct me in obtaining more information?
Thanks, David Bennion

Just to let you know that your question is being worked on, I have found that Caroline was left a widow after Charles was run over by a wagon full of potatoes. He was headed to Zimmerman from his farm in Livonia when the horses pulling the wagon were spooked by an oncoming vehicle. This would have been on October 1, 1908.
This alone does not answer your question but it verifies that they lived on the "old Kilmartin place" in Livonia at that time. Maybe we can piece enough together to provide something of a story about her life in Minnesota.
Warm regards

I also found her on familysearch #LCXZ-9GK and it says she was born 27 Oct 1870 in Schwendi, Wurttemberg, Germany. There are 33 sources most of which you have entered. Have you asked your question in the Germany group. I'm sure they may have more ideas where to find her in that country.

Still looking here but I suggest you contact Katherine Schober (I'm not being funny here) and see if she can give you any direction or insight.

I want to check for any records from hospitals, sanitariums, etc., but I'm not terribly confident after the hours I've spent this afternoon and evening looking for those breadcrumbs. At this point, I think the aforementioned source might be your best shot.
Good Luck,

@David Bennion 1 The ship in which Caroline was a passenger departed from the port of Bremen in 1887 and the emigration records for Bremen have not survived. Your best chance for finding where she originated is probably in pursuing any possible family members or friends that she knew before emigrating. Who was the witness at the wedding?
Looking at the passenger list, it doesn't appear that she has anything in common with those who were disembarking with her. Do you know for sure that she was traveling alone? Was she just following other Germans to Minnesota or was there some other reason she settled there? Could she have been a servant to other of the other passengers on the ship? Also, I'm confused by the birth record attached to Caroline of a daughter, Lena, born in 1886 in Minnesota. Is that Wilhelmina and they got the year wrong?
