Greek Municipality Assistance
Hello, I am posting this question in hopes that someone might be able to lead me in the right direction. My Great Grandmother was born in 1895 in in an area called Varvasaina, Greece which is on the Peloponnese side of Greece. I have contacted their municipality and also that of Elis (Pygros) and they say no records exist. But on all of the documentation I have, it says she was born here or as they spelt it on the forms Barbasino(common errors were made during these days because they didn't know how to spell that well). I know she came through the port of Patras. Any other suggestions on trying to find her? I know women are harder to find because they weren't registered like the men in these days for the military. I have tried searching voting records, you name it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!! I went on Ancestry and looking under "Public Member Trees" and her husband, I found someone who had some information for her. Here is a snip of the tree.
The person had quite a few sources here besides the ones shown. If you do not have access to Ancestry, you can go to a FamilySearch Center near you, and use Ancestry for free. To find a center near you, just click on the Map icon at the top right-hand corner of the FamilySearch screen, then "Find a Center" and a map will show.
