Translation of terms
what does the tota siu or tota osia mean? this term appears only before some of the Vittoria names but no other names I've run across. Records are from 1810 birth and death records from Molita, Cosenza, Calabria.

Tota is a nickname. The words after are "seu" ("or / also called" in Latin) and "o sia" (an older way of writing "ossia", which means basically the same thing as seu in this context). In each case Vittoria might be her proper given Christian name but Tota is how she is known to everyone.
Perhaps it's a region-specific nickname or based in Calabrian dialect.
