Seeking help on what may be a Latin occupation word on Croatian church records
Hello,
Would anyone be able to interpret a word that appears on my g-grandmother's baptism record and her father's death/burial record?
Amalia was baptized 1 Oct 1857 in Velika Kopanica, Croatia to Ivan Attomir and Maria Jankovic. The words after her parents' names look like 'rotenii filius'. I don't understand the masculine ending if it is referring to Amalia as daughter of Ivan. (Record Entry #91 on Page 10)
On Ivan's death/burial record 24 Oct 1859, what looks to be the same word appears after his name and appears to me in this record as 'Rotarius'. (Record Entry #79 on Page 31)
On Amalia's 22 August 1888 marriage record in Croatian in Ðakovo, her father, Ivan, is listed as a 'Kolara'. I interpeted Kolara as a driver. (Record Entry #44 on Page 246)
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Nancy

Hello! Rotarius, to my knowledge means a "wheelwright" or a "wheelmaker". Which in Croatian (as wikipedia says) is kolar. I can confirm that as well, since in the Slavic language (not Croatian) I speak, it is kolar as well.
So all 3 records say "wheelmaker".
Not sure about the masculine ending of filius in the baptism record, maybe just a mistake?
EDIT: the kolara in the marriage record... the -a is just a suffix used with the genitive case as in she is the daughter OF a wheelmaker. The word in it's basic (nominative) form is KOLAR
