Catholic records from 1868?

I am looking for the birth record of Nazzareno Silvestrelli, born between July and August in 1868 in the region of Rome, and apparently the region where he was born only has records starting from 1871. Does anyone have any tips on where to look for records prior to the Risorgimento, the Italian unification?

If he married in Italy, the marriage allegati would likely have a copy of his baptismal record. Otherwise, you have a quite a search ahead of you if it's in Roma Capitale. If it's in a separate comune then it might be more manageable, but you would still be relying on the pastor of the parish church to allow you (or a researcher you might hire) access to records.
