Big change to standardised places in Western Australia?
All the standardised places in Western Australia seem to have changed so now none that were previously standardised are currently standardised :(
It seems that the local government authority has been inserted, but this is not usually relevant in Australia and is subject to change. Granted that FindAGrave has done this for awhile now, but they only use current place names and not historical places names like FamilySearch.
As an example, the suburb of Mount Lawley which was standardised as “Mount Lawley, Western Australia, Australia”, is now showing as “Mount Lawley, Stirling, Western Australia, Australia” but this is not necessarily accurate - as per https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Lawley,_Western_Australia it is currently split between THREE LGAs: Vincent ( only formed in 1994 when the City of Perth was split into 3 LGAs), Stirling and Bayswater. Which streets are in a specific LGA have had various changes (most recently in last few years?). Will that mean that people should need to check the borders of the LGAs for a given date to properly standardise?
As another example, William Henry Phillips (1875-1956) { https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/K8ZD-4DH } died and was buried in the town of Pinjarra which was previously standardised as “Pinjarra, Western Australia, Australia” but the standard is now showing as “Pinjarra, Murray, Western Australia, Australia” but Pinjarra (founded in 1831) predates Shire of Murray (1961) and even its predecessor Murray Road District (1871).
What is the process to have the insertion of LGA into Western Australian places reviewed (and hopefully rolled back)? If this is implemented in the rest of the states then I assume that it will be met with huge push back!

The Places Authorities investigated this issue. These incorrect changes should be corrected by now. As a FYI towns and cities in Australia should be directly under the province, not under the local government authority.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
