Joseph Gil Sonnet and Catharina Machielson
I have documents from Hamburg Germany that name Joseph Gil Sonnet and Catharina Machielson as the parents of Franz Joseph Sonnet or possibly Francois Joseph Born in Brussels 26 March 1784. There was second child Catharina whose married name was Loopmanns. Franz Joseph Sonnet married Johanna Margaretha GEHRHOLT in Hamburg 22 July 1821.
I am looking for help to locate either Baptism documents for Franz Joseph and Catharina, a married for Joseph Gil Sonnet and Catharina Machielson. Or marriage of Catharina Sonnet to Loopmanns.
I have searched all the indexes on line at the Brussels archives but no clues there. Perhaps Joseph Gil Sonnet was a soldier from France. How do I access the relevant indexes or records for the period?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I did not find the names you are assuming to be,..correct, nor on the Belgian Rijksarchief, nor in the Dutch engines , and yes; if they existed under the names you assume, they should at least partially be there. This is very often the case with oral histories .The only trace of a (P)ossible ancestor that i found and could match the Catharina you are referring to is to be found here,.....and as only the mother is on the certificate and no trace of a father, the name Sonnet could be a derivative of the maternal line only, and by effect distort the further query...(IF she is related anyhow) She is dated as 01/04/1790 (6 yrs after the boy you coined)...(Cath M Sonnet

Instead of this Snapshot of an image,..could you post the links themselves via cut/copy/paste to this box here to make it possible to get lifted directly to the book of interest and making it possible to browse immediately to compare words that are difficult to read on one page but could be an easy read on other pages? Also, the above seems to be some sort of reading of this 'proclamation' as it contains two different dates and is no marriage record...my latin is bad but i see the term proclamation, and "Hasselt" as place of living => 'Hasselta habitans'.Furthermore, some terms are written in flat Dutch 'in de Magdalena Steenweg' (1) and also this location for one of the witnesses, Grossjean/as 'Magdalena Steenwegh' (2) both locations are identical exept for the spelling (both are valid spellings). There is one location for the 'scribe,' 'Hoogstraet'
if you like to find the Magdalenasteenweg or Rue De Madeleine it is on google maps/streetview

Apparently she is born in Hasselt and parents are Jacobi Machiels and Gertrudis Dirix; the date is 30 Januari 1756 (so is matching 1812-57 =1755 or 1756 depending on ...her fill name is Anna Catharina

Josephus Gilsonnet is born In Brussels proper itself, baptism in the same church/book as above previous.
Date is 02/04/1741 , left hand page, lowest entry; parents included.also , keep in mind , probably you will find brothers or sisters browsing the surrounding years in this book, also/relatives,-i can see the name Gilsonnet multiple times.you should try to confirm the date, from possible other sources , to have proof its him.
