Baptism translation help
Hello, Im looking for help in translating a Baptism record. Here is the link:
Frank Zavadil, the last name entered. I know his father is Anton Zavadil, but I don't understand the other names or numbers after Anton Zavadil. I also know his mother is Katherine and that the parents of Katherine are Thomas Paul and Elizabeth Filinger. But there are words after Filinger that I don't understand. I know the baptism took place in Pelhrimov. The last 2 far right corners looks like the godparents might be listed? But I am not sure how to read it. I have found some words on google translator, but not enough to understand.
Thank you,
Dawn Marie

Hi, not sure if it's me, but the link is not working. Can you post it again? If it's in Czech, I may help with the translation.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Try this link?
Thank you!

Year, month, and day of birth: 30 SEP 1880
Year, month, and day of baptism: 1 OCT 1880
House No.: 201
Baptized by: Mr. Josef Vávrů, chaplain
Child’s name: František Zavadil
Religion: Catholic
Sex: male
Legitimacy: Legitimate
Father: Antonín Zavadil, wheel-maker* from Pelhřimov No. 201, son of Josef Zavadil, šafář** in Ústrašín No. 18? 187? and Marie, née Kodešová from Pelhřimov.
Mother: Kateřina, daughter of Tomáš Poul/Poula, familiant*** in Poříčí, No. 15 and Alžběta, née Tilingrová from Olešná****
Godparents: Jan Huose? Huon?? (neither sound Czech tbh), familiant*** from Poříčí and his mother Marie Hronová.
Midwife: Kateřina Wacherskowa??, trained midwife from Pelhřimov no. 126
There is a Latin text on the bottom of the page about deacon Adalbertus Holý being a public witness to something (as far as I managed to translate) but I’m not sure whether it belongs to your ancestor or to the whole page
* wheel makers were also responsible for making and fixing other wooden parts of farming equipment, not just wheels
** šafář was something like a head of the farm workers working on a manor land for the owner. He delegated jobs to them and was “supervising” them.
*** familiant was a “hereditary tenant of manor lands” – that’s what a google search gave me
**** there are multiple villages called Olešná, I’d say this is the one in the Pelhřimov district

Wow! Thank you so much!
So, kolar means wheel maker and such. Had no idea.
I have been researching my Zavadil family for 5 years trying to find the 5 lost brothers and sisters of my great grandmother. If you or someone in the community has a moment, could you please look at these sibilings for me and tell me if you think they are related? they are 6 baptism records. Some of the handwriting is easier to read than others. I think Karl is the easiest to read. I know the father is Anton Zavadil and the mother is Katherine Paul. I think Katherine Paul's parents are Thomas Paul and Elizabeth Filinger-but those are the americanized names. I think the Karoline Javadilova is supposed to be Zavadilova. Part of the problem is interpreting handwriting in the Czech documents and the interpretation of the documents in the US.

I know this is a lot to ask. Any guidance you might have is very much appreciated.
Thank you!

Hello, I can 99% confirm these people are all related - siblings. Same parents, same grandparents, Jan Hron was the godfather to all of them, they even had the same midwife, Kateřina.
I can now read the godfather's name better, it's definitely Jan Hron.
In the oldest child's record (Marie) it gives you a piece of extra information. The father, Antonín Zavadil was a widower (vdovec in Czech), before marrying Kateřina. His first wife was Marie, née Švejda from Pelhřimov. Maybe there were some children in that marriage too you can look for?
Those Americanized names are all almost correct. The only "mistake" they made is the mother's maiden name. It's spelled as Poul in the Czech records. The first names are just (correctly) translated into English and the other last names are good as well (only omitting the -ová suffix, which is used for females in some Slavic countries). I'm gonna correct my initial transcription of ALŽBĚTA TILINGEROVÁ to FILINGEROVÁ (just as you are saying), the "F" is more prominent in the other siblings' records.
If you need help with anything else, don't hesitate to reach out.

Dear Lucia,
You have made my day! I have searched for so long for this information. My parents and Aunts and Uncles are in their 80's now and they have wondered their whole life about the Zavadil side of the family. After the brothers and sisters came to America they lost touch....I don't know what happened....but over generations nobody even knew that brothers and sisters once existed until I started researching. Thanks to the 1950 census I was able to track down descendants of one of the brothers and I am now slowly trying to put the family back together.
i will definitely check out any children from Anton's first wife. When it says house number 201, is there a street name also? I looked up the town last night, but wasn't sure how to find house 201.?
Again, thank you so much!

Just a heads up that when you put a link in a new line and then hit enter, it will be changed to the box where every : is replaced by %3A so that https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6VLX-9ZLS becomes

Wow, okay. Thank you

Hello,
Could someone please give me an opinion? Zavadil Children:
The 6 children in my previous message about baptism records are brothers and sisters. But, when they immigrated, the birth years I have for them from the US census and marriage documents are slightly off from the baptism records in my previous message from Pelhrimov, Czech. All 6 have Catherine/Kate Paul as mother and Anton Zavadil as father listed on their marriage certificate. (They all got married in NYC). The census, marriage and death documents all say "about" or "estimate" for year born.
- Karel/Charles, born Oct. 28, 1882. But on his naturalization papers it says October 27, 1882. Off one day. In the census and marriage the years range from 1882 to 1884.
- Frank born Sept. 30 1880. His naturalization papers say Sept 30. 1881, with other document years ranging from 1881-1882.
- Emilie born August 27, 1877. Document years range 1878-1882.
- Marie is consistent with her birth year 1871.
- Caroline, got married and committed to 1875. (Her baptism records state 1872)
- John I do not know much about him, but his tombstone and his birth records both say 1874.
Frank documented that he was born in Pelhrimov Czech. Which is how I found the baptism records. Caroline is buried with her mother Catherine in a family plot in NYC. Frank and Karel/Charles married sisters, so they are well documented. Catherine Paul, the mother of the 6, was a widower when she immigrated to the the US and got remarried. (I have family documentation for this.) Catherine lists her parents names when she got remarried-Thomas Paul and Elizabeth Filinger. These names correspond to the grandparents listed on the baptism records of the 6 children.
I feel I have enough documentation that they are the same 6, but why are the years off?
Thank you so much, Dawn Marie
