Alsace, Bas-Rhin and Haut-Rhin archives sources and web access
During the past few years a relative and I have spent alot of time going through both the Haut-Rhin and Bas-Rhin archives online. This are two archives that are image only and separate from the familysearch website. We have documented sources for numerous ancestors with the web URL”s for each individual. In some cases images of the records were also uploaded as memories. This month Alsace changed their access to these databases for use only in France. This information is posted on the familysearch Bas-Rhin and Haut-Rhin wiki research pages. I am concerned that uninformed researchers will delete all of our sources, as they may find the link inoperable if they are outside of France. Can just anyone delete sources on familysearch? Do I need to put a footnote on all these records not to delete them as they are only accessible in France. What is the familysearch policy on approved uploaded sources?

@EHeinz From my experience, the sources that are found under the "Sources" tab on an individual's person page are communal. This means others can edit and detach these sources. If you are concerned about losing this documentation, I would suggest that you also upload the information as an image or document in the "Memories" section. My experience has been that only the person who uploaded the image or document can edit or delete it. Just an idea.

You can save a word document as a pdf and upload as documentation.
