Need Help with Translation of maiden name: is it Roels or Cools
Hi,
I am having a little trouble with this Berlare Death Record that has an index. Here is the problem. I say based on Latin and script and index it looks to me to be Roels. Another person, who has a tree believes it is Cools. I guess Adriana could be Cools, but there are no Cools mentioned in the index, but there are a lot of entries for Roels. Was she from a neighboring town?
Here are the records in question:
Adriana Roels DeKegel Death Index 29 March 1627 Image 31 of 140 film 004453538
Adriana Roels DeKegel Death Record Image 100 of 181 film 004453557
They claim the index is wrong based on it was transcribed later.
I need another set of eyes to translate her maiden name.
Thanks,
Nancy

Hi , Nancy, i checked these images=>Film004453557 , image 100 of 181 , and film 00445538 image 31 of 140,and the read is for certain, Adriana Roels Dekegel "widow of Petrus"(small stroke first line) The church-latin stroke of the scribe is a bit calligrafic, and keep in mind , written with a plume smeared ink--bled out; altough it looks like Cools,it is 'Roels' . Berlare is very close to where i live btw 30 km or so. Can you post links by cut/copy to the pages itself in the future, as i just did,...saves in workload.

Btw , to avoid guessing, her maiden name is Adriana Roels, widow of Petrus Dekegel, adding his name as attached.
