Can I seal babies with just a last name?
Just this week I have found 3 baby death records where the age was indexed as 0. When I looked at the images of each record I discovered each child had indeed been ALIVE! Their ages ranged from 27 minutes to 8 hours!

Short answer: 'Yes', of course, you can.

I have done many.
.
I have copies of their "Birth Registration" where the was NO 'Given'/'Christian' name(s) recorded.

Just with, the "Gender" (ie. "Sex"); and, "Parents" names.

For "Illegitimate" births, there was ONLY a Mother's name, 'NO' Father's name, that is another matter. You need BOTH "Parents" to do the "Sealing".

When you "Print" the "Card" for the "Temple" Work, the "System" AUTOMATICALLY includes the "Prefix" of, either, "Mr" or "Miss" (in 'Italics'), depending on 'Gender'; as, there is 'NO' such 'Given'/'Christian' name recorded.

"If the child was never named, or the name was not recorded, do one of the following:
- Leave the child’s first name blank. Enter the father’s last name.
- If you do not know the father’s last name but know the mother’s, enter her last name instead.
- If you do not know either the father’s or mother’s last name, enter a question mark (?) as the child’s first name. Leave the last name blank."
