Sitio de Vargas, Madeira Island, Portugal
Hello,
I'd like to know if anyone could point me to in the right direction.
My godfather, named Gonzalo de Freitas, listed Sitio de Vargas, Madeira Island, Portugal as his hometown on his American naturalization.
I'm am not able to locate Vargas in the island. But maybe this is modern day that I cannot. He was born in 1921 and maybe some places have been renamed or it is an error of some sort.
I have attached his naturalization as clarification.
