Help/Ayuda. Birth record or church document for my great grandfather Italy 1876. where do I begin?
My great-grandfather was born in Civitanova Macerata in Italy 1876 (possibly 1879), I'm trying to get a birth certificate or some sort of document that shows he was born and lived there. I'm pretty new to genealogy, but needing to know where to look. I understand Italy did not provide birth certificates prior to the 1900's. There may be some Catholic church documents that could have some information. Can anyone help me with some information on where to look? thanks
PS: I'm learning Italian, any information in English or Spanish would be great, thanks
Mi tataro-abuelo nacio en Civitanova Macerata en Italia 1876 (posiblemente 1879). Estoy tratando de obtener su certificado de nacimiento o algun document que muestra que el nacio y vivio alli. Soy nueva en geneologia, pero necesito saber donde buscar esta informacion. Entiendo que Italia no daba certificado de nacimiento antes del año 1900 . Tal vez haya alguno documento de la Iglesia catolica que tenga alguna informacion de el. Puede alguien ayudarme con informacion en donde puedo buscar? Gracias
