Please translate birth record of Nicola Domenico Goffredo
Difficult to read document. I am hoping someone with more experience can translate this, preferable the full document, every word, but realize that may be too much to ask. This is important document for my research as all records I have on Nicola do not list his mother. I believe this birth record states something about the mother wishing to not be named so looking for confirmation of that with a fully translated document.
Thank you for any help.

Normally, I'd download the image via an IIIF viewer or from the manifest directly. Then, throw it into GIMP to adjust the levels and contrast to make it more readable. However, recently, Antenati blocked access to the manifest from either of these methods. See (https://dam-antenati.san.beniculturali.it/antenati/containers/Loo4o3N/manifest) - throws HTTP 403.
I encourage everyone to contact them and request the restoration of this access. As it stands, we can't download images from Antenati to import into local genealogy DBs. That's additional to the viewer at Antenati being cumbersome to use.

So that's why out of the blue it stopped working for me! But how can I contact them? I could not find it in the website. Thanks!

There's a contact form on their website:

@DangKwei Thanks. Apparently i had to try to search for something there before the form appeared.

This is the direct link in Antenati: https://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.it/ark:/12657/an_ua3947628/wX7qEbV/
This is a link to the image (the element at the end of the link above is the key): https://iiif-antenati.san.beniculturali.it/iiif/2/wX7qEbV/full/full/0/default.jpg
But the Antenati image viewer has brightness and contrast controls. I was able to read it (mostly) by messing with those.
6 Dec 1869 - appearing is Giuseppe Goffredo son of Nicola, age 32, peasant farmer, presenting a male baby born yesterday 5 Dec at 4 pm from his relationship with a woman who does not agree to be named...
You can also see in the margin by the record number that the birth is notated "naturale", meaning the parents were not legally married. They may have been married in the church, but between 1866 and 1929 church marriages were not recognized for legal purposes. Under the law a parent of an illegitimate child did not have to provide their name.

Thanks for providing the direct link to the image. I'd forgotten how to do that. At least we can pull the images manually still.

Thank you so much Cousin Vinny! I appreciate your help. I assume the rest of the record is either unreadable or does not have genealogically relevant information? I think after "son of Nicola..." the word is Domenico, so Giuseppe Goffredo is son of Nicola Domenico. Do you agree? Does it say if Giuseppe's father Nicola is dead or alive?
Lastly, anything in the record about address of their residence or where Giuseppe's father Nicola was born or living?
Thank you again!

Correct, he is son of Nicola Domenico. The patronymic is "di Nicola Domenico" and not "fu Nicola Domenico", so the implication is that he is still living.
If there is an address, it is on the 9th and 10th lines on the second page; it might say "casa numero quaranta Consolace Villa" but I wouldn't swear to it.

Does this help?

Yes, thank you both! I appreciate the help. Looks like 40 Consolace Villa.
