Looking for Swan Johnson. His marriage record to Belle Brown, Oct 1891, says he was married before. Have searched arkivdigital for him, but can't find anything that seems to match what is known about him.
On the marriage record: father - Nils Johnson; mother Bengt Ols. He listed his name as Swan Nils Johnson. He signed his name Swan N. Johnson. Birthdate on 1900 U.S. census is Sep 1852. Birthdate also given as 26 Mar 1852. The marriage record gives his age of 40 which would mean 1851 since he would have had his birthday in either March or September before his October marriage. He has 2 different years for emigration - 1900 census says 1875. 1920 census says 1867.
Thank you for any suggestions.

The remarks appear to concern his membership removal from the congregation for "contempt for Christian order". It also appears he was fined by the parish/congregation for some reason which I can't make out.
Having said that, this record gives his birthdate as 22 December 1852 in Halmstad, Halland, Sweden. The birth record of this Svante Johnson appears to match this person (whose name on the birth record is Swen Aron): https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0010646_00114#?c=&m=&s=&cv=113&xywh=343%2C464%2C4294%2C2305. I followed him in the household records for Halmstad and he does emigrate to North America in 1872 so I am certain the Svante Johnson in your record and Swen Aron Johannesson are the same person. See that record here (top half of line 12): https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0010611_00057#?c=&m=&s=&cv=56&xywh=82%2C1973%2C5075%2C2667.
His parents are Joh(ann)es Månsson and Elna Jönsdotter. So that makes me wonder if the Svante Johnson in your record is the same one whose parents are Nils Johnson and Bengt(a) Ols. I don't see how they could be.

Thank you, Norm. I agree that Svante can't be the Swan Johnson I'm looking for. This guy is the grandfather of my cousin. I've been searching for him in every record I can think of. He married Belle Brown in Oct 1891 in Seattle and said he had been married before. I'm assuming the marriage record is the most accurate since he gave the info. That's where he named his parents. But maybe he made it all up! He died in 1924 in Seattle.
