Please reverse the recent action that means there is no separation of U.S "States" and "Territories"

The article at https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/when-did-familysearch-combine-us-states-and-their-historic-territories-in-familysearch-places details an action that is totally wrong and needs to be reversed at once.

Please see comments at https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/121500/where-did-hawaii-territory-go#latest. The "merging" of the standard placenames of U.S. territories with U.S. states (of the same name - e.g. Utah) goes completely against all previously stated "best practice" on this issue.

Currently, there are two formats involving the (now) constituent nations of the United Kingdom - e.g. "England" (up to 1801) and "England, United Kingdom" (from 1801). I have spent countless hours in complying with the previously stated need to standardize placenames on the basis of how they should be / were known during different periods of time. It now seems I have completely wasted my time (especially as I have always been against the use of the "United Kingdom" suffix, under any circumstances), as FamilySearch is now telling us this issue is of no importance, after all.

Please either be consistent - either by making similar changes to those in the United States example for places throughout the world - or reverse this recent, incorrect action. As pointed out in comments raised in the "Community" post, the "territories" and "states" of the same name (unlike in, say, England and Scotland) do not even cover the same geographical areas.

In summary, this action is wrong from both historical and geographical standpoints, so the previous standard placenames options need to be reinstated.
