What is the history of Foster Children in Sweden? I have found several children who are listed as foster children and most of the time I can find at least one parent. How did the foster care system work in 1800's?

Back in the mid 1800, a child that was orphan, or the parents to poor to take care of them, could be sent away as a fosterchild, alot of time they first went to a Orphanage.

The Fosterparents got sometimes payed to take care of the child, but alot of times they mainly took care of a child to get free help on the farm.
