latin translation of dicti/dictus maron
Hello All,
I have another Latin phrase I'm not sure about. In both the side margin and the register entry there is 'dicti/dictus' maron referring to William Mery The original is image 110 of 134 https://v-earchives.vaucluse.fr/series/etat_civil/beaumes_de_venise/LC3659 and image is attached. Below is also the transcription and translation.
Can anyone tell me what 'maron' means in this sense?
Thanks very much,
Monique -

@Monique Leahey Sugimoto Guillelmus (Guillaume or William) Mery was alias/also known as Maron ("dictus" means "alias").
(Diui Nazarii) "in cuius fidem hac scripti": in whose faith this was written
