Is it possible to share my reserved family names with my family, ward, and stake members?
At RootsTech 2019, it was indicated that this type of online sharing was under development. I have heard recently that this feature has been piloted and is being revised. Can you tell me the status of this feature? Since some temples are no longer returning family name cards, this online sharing feature will be helpful to share reserved family names with family and friends.

As an aside ...

Luckily, we can (SHOULD be able to) get the "Card" back if we so desire.
.
Here is a "Knowledge Article", within "FamilySearch", in regard to that:
.
Do temples still return family name cards?
.
==========
Quote(s):
------------------
Several temples no longer return family name cards to you after you do the ordinances. Instead, you receive a message through FamilySearch Messaging, confirming that the ordinance was completed and recorded.
------------------
Participating temples
The following temples follow this new procedure:
Monticello Utah Temple
Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple
Oakland California Temple
Payson Utah Temple
Provo City Center Temple
Provo Utah Temple
Raleigh North Carolina Temple
Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple
[there are NOW other "Temples" that currently do not appear on this list]

Frequently asked questions
[Q] ... What if I am doing temple work for a close relative and want the family name card returned to me?
[A] ... If you want a family name card returned to you, please speak with a member of the temple office staff.
==========
.
So, at the moment, at least, it SHOULD not be all 'doom and gloom' for those that WANT the "Return" of the "Cards" with the completed "Ordinances".
.
Best advice:
.
When you go to a "Temple", straight away, ask to speak to the "Temple Recorder"; or, a Member of the "Temple Presidency"; and, find out if that "Temple" will "Return" the "Cards", after EACH "Ordinance" is "Completed" and "Recorded", if so "Requested". At least, you know.
.
And, in regard to any local "Temple", if it is not returning the "Cards" even when so requested, ask the "Temple" for a "Copy" of Church "Policy" on the matter; and, even better, quote/show them the aforementioned "Knowledge Article", within "FamilySearch".

@Ronald Nunnally - I moved this to the Temple Work and My Feamily group as this a more appropriate place to post a question like this.
At the present time they have been working on creating living family groups where all the people in the immediate family group can see eachother and they can have one shared temple list. They (the programmers) have, I assume from things I seen, had a lot of trouble getting this to work so it is still a ways off. Of course you can still used share with family and friends within your ordinance list.

Yes you can share your reserved names with others. It’s very easy to do With The familysearch app. All you need to do is after opening the app click on the temple icon, click on the name you want to share, then it gives you option to send name to temple or to give to someone. If you choose to share with someone it will give you the option to either email them the name or text them.
we use this a lot in our ward because we live on an island in Alaska and it can be costly and difficult to get to the temple often. Hope this helps.
