Vincenzo Porco (Porto)_ Chiara Mirabelli Marriage Processitti
With some help, I was able to find where the marriage occurred for this couple. Turns out the bride was from a town named Dipignano. Vincent and Chiara married in 1857. It was her 2nd marriage (not sure about Vincenzo). They must have moved to Rende because their son Roberto Porto was born in Rende in 1858. The Porco name seemed to change to Porto
Vincenzos parents were named Dominico Porco and Nicolina Pellegrino
Chiara's parents were Dominico Mirabelli and Maria Nunnari

1) I believe it begins on Image 144 Vincenzo Porco Birth I believe he was born on Mar. 27, 1812 in a town called Carolei.
2) Chiara Birth Record Image 145 I think she was born on 2/29/1820. Her mother's age was 33, Her father was 36. Not sure about his occupation? Questioning 29th day of Feb. (leap year?
3) Dominico Porco Death Record. Image 146 He died in 1837, having a problem with the date? It appears he was born in Carolei. Not sure of what town he died in? Can't make out the fathers first name or if a mother is named?
4) Image 147 I really have no idea what this record is? Any help would be great
5) Image 148 I know this is a death record, but not sure who the person was, and how they were related to this couple. Rosa ??
6) Dominico Mirabelli Death record Image 149 I believe he died on August 20, 1839 in Dipignano, I'm thinking he was born there also? His father was Saverio Mirabelli (dead), Mother Antonia Ajello
7) Death Record of Maria Nunnari Image 150 Looks like she died on Aug. 29, 1838 in Dipigano. Would like help with her birth town
8) Death Record of Chiara Mirabelli's first husband ... don't need any help on this one
I know it's a lot of info and questions, but any help would be greatly appreciated - Carl

- Croaked on 1837-02-13 in Cosenza. Father was Benigno. Mother isn't named. You can find a clearer original here (https://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.it/detail-registry/?s_id=35961290), image 34;

@DangKwei I really appreciate you taking the time to review these and help answer my many questions.
This single marriage record that you helped get me to, really opened up a large number of new ancestors! I love when I find 2nd marriage records because there tends to be more death records in the Processitti.
I was wondering if you or someone could take a second look at Image 146 (death record of Dominico Porco ) Can you help tell me how old he was when he died?
I'll begin looking for some marriage records for the parents of Chiara and Vincenzo
Thanks again- Carl

@joseph99929 @DangKwei I've been going thru a bunch of census records and I finally found one from 1753 in the town of Carolie. From this processitti there was a death record for a Benigno Porco. I was hoping you could double check something for me. DangKwei thought it said he was about 45 yrs old. which would put his birth abt 1750.
The record I found shows his age at 17 in 1753 which would put his birth around 1736 ( A pretty big difference) Benigno is not a common name that I have seen, so I kind of feel I have the right family.
I was just hoping you could double check the death record of Benigno for both the death year and age?
This is the link to the original processitti https://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.it/detail-registry/?s_id=35963695

@Harleynut97 Reviewing image 147 of the processetti, death of Benigno Porco:
It looks like they forgot to write the decade when transcribing this church death certificate.
The year says "millesimo septingentesimo quinto" that just means 1705 which is impossible. Obviously, the word before quinto has been omitted. So we can't know which year he died without viewing the original church book in Carolei. Could be 1795, 1785, 1775, etc...
An idea would be to hunt for other marriage processetti in Carolei of descendants of Benigno and hope that the death certificate was transcribed correctly on that one!
He died at approximately age 45, and was the husband of Innocenza Purri[?]
Benigno is not a common name, so if you are able to confirm that this is the only Benigno Porco present in Carolei in 1753, then it's likely the correct family and he maybe died in 1775 or 1785. Of course, the best way to confirm pre-1809 facts beyond all doubt is to get parents' names from church marriage records, or from other sources, but this is obviously not possible to do without being on-site.
According to the 1837 death record, Benigno's son Domenico Porco was aged 60, so born around 1777. It is therefore technically possible for his father Benigno to have been born just after 1753, and died in 1795 age 41-42, but this is less likely.

The age on the census is 13, so that would put his birth at 1740.

@joseph99929 @DangKwei Thanks to both of you for taking a second look. I did look at every record on this census and did not see any more Benigno's. Let me ask for some help on the father's first name and the mother's first and last name?
My old eyes are not working so well.😎 It's frustrating on this website that you can't scroll in closer
Also if possible let me ask a couple of other questions / comments.
1) I can't be absolutely sure that this is the actual mother of Benigno. She could be a second wife? If you look at the first child age 26, it seems they say he is the son possibly of Rosario? I then look at the next child age 26, I can't tell what's going on there. Can I get your input on this?
2) My old eyes see age 17 DangKwei. But something tells me your correct because the ages have typically been in descending order... but what is making you see 13?
3) Another thing I was thinking about is could Benigno on this census died, and they named another son Benigno. But I think that is pretty doubtful.
Be curious on your thoughts on the above-Carl

I just thought of another idea, you can search for Benigno's wife, Innocenza Purri[?]. She may or may not be your ancestor Domenico Porco's mother, but we do know she would be roughly the same age as Benigno, so if you find her as a teenager as well, that is good evidence you have the right people. Innocenza is not a common first name either.
To translate the people on the census for you:
- Serafino Porco, bracciale=laborer
- Isabella Marrazzo, wife
- Alessio, son, massaro=farm manager, casato=married
- Orsola Di Cicco, his wife
- Maddalena, daughter of Serafino, nubile=unmarried
- Giovanni, son
- Benigno, son
- Angela, daughter (or possibly Angelo, son, hard to tell)
- Benedetto, son of Alessio (therefore, grandson of Serafino)

Descending order, plus I can tell the curves on the three bled together. Didn't have to play with the levels/contrast either. Unlikely a 50 y.o. woman had another child after this census, but not impossible. The penultimate person is Angela, daughter.
Regarding using this census, since my ancestral comune is small, I wrote a few lines of script to download all them for offline viewing and left it running overnight. We were missing a lot of data due to how the images are presented on the site. It was more useful browsing in another image viewer.

Appreciate the translation... This makes much more sense now. While it can't be proven without a baptism record of Benigno, I would say there is probably a 90% chance Isabella is the mother of Benigno. While there is a pretty big break in ages between Alessio and Maddalena, very possible that one or even 2 of the children married and no longer live in the home.
So far I have not found a single record on Innocenza Purri (I think it may be Perri). I'm going to double back in Carolei early records for a second look. I think it will be very doubtful to find Dominco Porco or Benigno Porco's marriage records as they were well before 1809. The other thing is maybe I could find a sibling of Benigno who had a later second marriage.
Your eyes are much better that mine DangKwei :) Yes Info on Angela would be a good
Appreciate both of your help-Carl

I believe this is another Death document of Benigno Porco. It came from another Processitti from his son Vincenzo Porco.
Can you double check the date of death, I believe it is 1785?

Indeed. That would have made him born in 1740. Congrats, you hit Catasto.
