Need Help with document translation
Hello all,
I need help translating a document for an ancestor. I believe it is the wife of Joseph Metzmeier. Her name was Maria Anna Jorger, if I understand the record properly. The record seems to be in Kurrent although it is a german/latin hybrid and is hard for me to translate. It is from the 1800s. I would appreciate a transcription and english translation if possible.
Thank you and much metta,
Masaki

Hello Masaki
this record is actually fully in Latin and the writing is in Latin script.
Here is my transcription:
§12. Anno D. millesimo septingentesimo nonagesimo octavo die decima tertia Februarii, praemessis tribus proclamationibus tribus diebus dominicis continuis, quarum prima facta est die vigesima octava Januarii, altera die quarta Februarii, et tertia die undecima ejusdem, obtentaque in impedimento consanguinitatis gradus latii aequalis per Adsimi Domini Ordinarii Episcopi Sp___is ____ dispensatione sub dato Bruchsaliae die prima Februarii anni currentis ad acta parochialia reposita, nullo alio legitimo impedimento detecto ante missa parochialis solemnia R.[everendus] D.[ominus] Franz Josephus Engelmann Parochi infrascripti cu__tor Josephum Metzmejer, Andrea Metzmejer et Magdalena Bleichen filium legitimum et Mariam Annam Jaergerin Francisci Jaerger et Catharina Baumannin conjugam et civium Badensium in Guntzenbach filiam legitimam parochianos meos in Ecclesia mea parochiali interrogavit, mutuoque eorum consensu coram ipso praestito, et habito solenniter per verba de praesenti Matrimonio junxit praesentibus testibus notis Jacobo Kitzinger sutore et __? Badena, et Joanne Metzmejer a_ Badensi in Scheuren, __aska eis ex ritu S. Matris Ecclesia benedixit. Jta testor Josephus Lechleitner custos et Parochus Ecclesia collegiata ad S. Mariam in caelos assumptam.
I am not able to fully translate this record. I can just offer my interpretation of some parts:
Anno D. millesimo septingentesimo nonagesimo octavo die decima tertia Februarii, praemessis tribus proclamationibus tribus diebus dominicis continuis, quarum prima facta est die vigesima octava Januarii, altera die quarta Februarii, et tertia die undecima ejusdem
This is the date of the marriage: In the year 1798, on 13 February, after three proclamations on consecutive Sundays, 28 January, 4 February, and 11 February
obtentaque in impedimento consanguinitatis gradus latii aequalis per Adsimi Domini Ordinarii Episcopi Sp___is ____ dispensatione sub dato Bruchsaliae die prima Februarii anni currentis ad acta parochialia reposita, nullo alio legitimo impedimento detecto
It seems that the spouses were related by blood (impedimento consanguinitatis), possibly cousins, and therefore permission (dispensatione) had to be obtained from the episcopal office in Bruchsal? which was given on 1 February and was kept on file in the parish (ad acta parochiali reposita), No other obstacles were found (nullo alio legitimo impedimento detecto)
R.[everendus] D.[ominus] Franz Josephus Engelmann Parochi infrascripti cu__tor Josephum Metzmejer, Andrea Metzmejer et Magdalena Bleichen filium legitimum et Mariam Annam Jaergerin Francisci Jaerger et Catharina Baumannin conjugam et civium Badensium in Guntzenbach filiam legitimam
This is the name of the wedding priest and the names of the spouses and their parents: ... the reverend Franz Joseph Engelmann, undersigned parish priest, [united in marriage] Joseph Metzmeier, legitimate son of Andreas Metzmeier and Magdalena Bleichen with Maria Anna Jaerger, legitimate daughter of Franziscus Jaerger and his wife Catharina Baumann, citizen of Baden in Guntzenbach
praesentibus testibus notis Jacobo Kitzinger sutore et __? Badena, et Joanne Metzmejer a_ Badensi in Scheuren,
in the presence of the witnesses Jacob Kitzinger, shoemaker and __ from Baden, and Johann Metzmeier, ___ in Scheuren
