Help finding my great-great-grandfather
Hello!
I'm posting here because I ran out of options before I try to write an email to the comune. I'm trying to find more information online about my great-great-grandfather. This is what I know:
- His name was Amadeo (or Amedeo) Michieli.
- He was born in 1866 (October 29th I think), in the comune of Bassano del Grappa.
- He served in the Regio Esercito Italiano, apparently in the 8º Reggimento Artiglieria (this paper shows the name of his parents, but I couldn't find anything from them online either).
- He married Rosa Dona at some point, who was one year younger than him (can't confirm if she was born in 1866 or 1867).
- Both left to Argentina in 1897 according to the Passaporto.
- He had 5 kids: Ana Teresa, Silvestre, Marino Pablo, Alley Amadeo, Ana Maria. I have the 5 baptism records (all in Santa Fe, Argentina) down below: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/sources/G6QW-JL8
Online I was able to find the baptism records from above, and this two entries arsas.org (which I think are worthless): https://www.arsas.org/leva/1307-micheli-amadeo https://www.arsas.org/leva/1234-micheli-amedeo (notice how both got his last name wrong: Micheli and not Michieli).
I'm looking for his Certificato di Nascita and his Certificato di Matrimonio. I couldn't find anything online, unfortunately. I'll post the documents that I have at home.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

That's an interesting viewer. It makes browsing Antenati way less tedious. I'd been pulling the images manually from the manifest.

Yes, universal viewer + IIIF manifest link is the way to go, I've found. Direct links to images, actual thumbnails, it makes life so much easier.

Well done! Just so you know, since the spouses were born before 1871 (when civil registration was introduced in Vicenza), you see there are only baptism extracts for them. To get originals you would need to contact the respective churches directly.
You should search the death records of Bassano for the parents of the groom and the death records of Campolongo sul Brenta for the mother of the bride. It appears you may have 10-year indexes available.

Hey, thanks for your help!
What is the purpose of finding the death records of the parents? I know that I need the original birth certificates of Amadeo & Dona by contacting the churches. But why the records of the parents? Would those bring me some important information?
Thanks :)

Civil death records include names of parents (church records may or may not include this information), so if you are wanting to extend the tree back further, finding the death records of the parents of Amadeo and Rosa will give you the names of their parents.
