Searching for husband's grandfather's family in China
Hi, thanks for allowing me to join your Chinese Geneaology Research Group.
Please, my husband and his 8 siblings have been searching for many years for any information about their much loved grandfather whom they called, in Samoan, Kigi Kigi. Upon further research, we found his name on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Church Census Records(Worldwide), 1914-1960 taken in 1955 as:-
Chan (Tigitigi) KIN KIN, born 13 December 1886 at Huchow, Shanghai, CHINA.
All we know about him from my mother in law, was that her Dad worked as a Chef in the main hospital. He was a hard working laborer with other men from China, brought in by our then, German Government leaders who colonized our country then called Western Samoa. When it was time for them all to return back to China he and others went separate ways choosing to marry her mother and settled in Tanugamanono til his death.
My husband can vividly recall his grandfather as a hardworking man, who loved his grandmother Vini(a Samoan), and his children and many grandchildren.
Please let me know here, if you have any info or tips to help us find his existing families in any country and we will contact them ASAP.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give us.
