Hi:
It looks like he was held on ice a whole year before burying him. I'm not buying it.
The records hardly ever mention the year in these burials.
How can I find out what year he died? I can't find any other records.

I interpret the dates in the second handwritten image as follows:
Burial date (first column): 31 January, at 2:30 pm
Death date (second column): 28 January.
There is no indication that these two events took place in two different years based on the second handwritten image you posted. So Katharine (Bauer) Arnold died on 28 January and was buried three days later on 31 January in the same year.
Now to determine if these event took place in 1949 or 1950:
According to Katherine's 1884 marriage record, she was born on 20 September 1863: https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/904677662:61060
Her age at death from the second image you posted was 86 years, 4 months, 8 days.
Her date of death is either 28 January 1949 or 28 January 1950.
If you substract her age at death from the death date of 28 January 1949 the result is: 20 September 1863.
This matches her birth date from her marriage record.
So, she died on 28 January 1949 and was buried 3 days later on 31 January 1949.
