Trying to find Family of Antonio and Rosa Mossutto (sp)
I have probably posted this before, but Family Search will not show me "my discussions" so.....
Why am I searching for these two? I have something that needs returned to this family oh so many years later. It is very important for me to do this for this family and my deceased grandfather.
My grandfather was stationed in Italy during WWII, with the 435th Signal Battalion, Naples and Bari areas. He talked about Antonio who was a young boy that did jobs around the camp including cutting the GI's hair. Several of the men became close with Antonio's family, including my grandfather. Antonio had a sister Rosa. I believe older sister. Antonio and Rosa's father passed away during this time. Their father gave my grandfather something on his deathbed, and had him promise to bring Antonio to the states after the war. Which my grandfather did not. Something that haunted him 'till the day he died. I did ask once why they did not send for him. The answer.....they had no idea how and they did not have the means. Again it haunted grandpa, he DID LOVE this family. So I promised to try and find this family to return the item given him. (I've been trying for years on and off)
Here is what I have....
On August 23 1944, in the 435th Signal Battalion diary, it was stated that a 12 yr old boy was hired to do "some of the more unpleasant tasks" around the camp. I believe this boy was Antonio. On Sept 3 in the diary, it says "Terlizzi is their town" That it was placed off limits to all US troops except to the 435th.
This leads me to Antonio and Rosa were from Terlizzi. I have attached a pic so hopefully that will help.
Not really sure of spelling of last name but, grandpa pronounced the last name Ma sue toe.
Edit: Antonio did come to the states. He went to at least one of the reunions, of which my grandfather did not attend any.
Wish I had more!
Thanks in advance for ANY help!

Unless you know their parents' names you're not going to get very far. Italian birth records less than 100 years old are not publicly available and will only be released by the comune to a direct descendant.
Mossuto is a surname found in Terlizzi.

It sounds like your goal is to locate Antonio Mossuto, born about 1932 in Terlizzi, Bari, Pulia, Italy and who now lives or died in the United States....is that correct? If so, your hunt is really for a living person or someone who died not long ago.
Here is a wiki article about finding living people in the United States: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Finding_Living_People_in_the_United_States
You might even just try google searches something like this: Antonio Mossuto AND Terlizzi

These people are way too recent to research genealogically. Therefore, the best approach may be to ask locals living in town if someone happens to knows them or their family. These people might even still be alive!
I would recommend joining and asking (in English or in Italian) some local Facebook groups: https://www.facebook.com/search/groups/?q=terlizzi
It's quite common on these groups to find Americans seeking family, and your story is quite touching, so I do think you'd get a good reception and if you are very lucky, you might find someone who knows them.
I agree that the surname is probably Mossuto as that matches the pronunciation you specified.
