German Anapaptist Reseach Resources?
My father's patriarchal line immigrated to America around the mid-1770s and settled in Pennsylvania. I am assuming they fled here due to religious persecution. Are there any resources in Europe that track anabaptists. In America I am told some of the family were Amish, but my line ended up members and ministers in the Church of the Brethren, also known as dunkards. Any suggestions for across the "pond" research options. I am told this group of people sought refuge in Francis in King Louis' more tolerant days, but were later kicked out and were forced to return to Germany. The original spelling was Buechele (meaning little book) and evolved into multiple spellings, the more common ones included: Beachley, Beachly, Beeghley, and Beeghly. Any direction for anabaptist research would be greatly appreciated. Shirley
