Peter Keller death 63 yrs film 102078348 page 323
Translation request:
I think this Peter Keller was a baker.
The reason this document is completely readable is because the Graben pastor from 1719-1737 was Andreas Weber - in contrast to the pastor from 1714-1719 Daniel Niklas whose entries are difficult to read. Thank you Andreas!!!!!!
Entry 8, 21 July, death Herr Peter Keller, local Bürger___________age 63 years 3 mo, 2 days.

Hello KG,
It's "Herr" but remember you asked for a translation: "Herr" translates as "Mister" = Mr.
Yes, "Herr" is a term of respect. Note that very few people in the records have "Mr." in front of their names. You can safely assume when I add "Mr." to a name in my translations that I am translating the word "Herr" unless otherwise noted.

Robert Huge news for me! So there are only two Peter Keller's. This man was born in 1657. His father much earlier. A little more research needed but good to know this important entry. Thanks, Kent

You're welcome, Kent.

Robert Seal_1 Robert is the salutation Mr or Herr. From what I remember Herr is a term of high respect given to people who serve in the community or who have attained a high station or rank. Right?

Robert Seal_1 Very helpful. Robert. I don't think I was looking at it this way. Now I can go back through my records and "Mr." will have more meaning. Thanks for the clarification!!! KG
