Can't see child's name on birth record?
This birth record on p. 234 of the Plana (PS) 01 in the Plzen records includes Wenzel Karl as the father and Magdalena as the mother on the date 3 June 1707. But I can not see the name or sex of the child. Can anyone help me with this? I would appreciate it very much!

@McQuade Mary1 in does not look like the child was given a name in this entry. We do know that the child is a boy.

and then I am lost. I consulted the Czech Genealogical Word List, and tried a couple of spellings. Those words may be names of witnesses. The last line does provide a name, Margareta Valentin and maybe the word "Mutterin." The German word for mother, is Mutter, so I am not sure why they would add the -in. And then, there's a signature. This was pieced together with a little help from my colleague, Gina. I recommend you look through the entire document to find similar words. The spelling is different, normally, baptism/christening would be "getauft" but, I have see it, "getaufft," and now "taufft."
You could check the death entries, to see if baby boy died around the same time of this entry. And, if he didn't, then perhaps he was named later. Maybe the parents couldn't decide on a name?
