Queen Alexandra Military Hospital - London
I've recently learned that an ancestor died at the QAMH in London/Millbank in 1933. He was a new recruit to the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, and died after just four months! I'd like to know where he was buried. Did the QAMH have a particular cemetery where the dead were buried? Or did they return bodies to their families at that time?

I do not know the answer to your question but it seems unlikely that the hospital would have its own cemetery.
Have you tried searching hospital records? The National Archives lists administrative records held at

Per QAMH's website (https://www.qaranc.co.uk/war_graves_memorials_nurses.php): "Wimereux War Grave Cemetery in France was located near military hospitals during the Great War. There are several members of the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service and Royal Army Medical Corps buried there. The Commonwealth War Graves are located in a separate area of the civilian graves.
Unlike other war grave memorials the headstones lies flat against the ground because of the soil in the graveyard is sandy and does not support the weight of the uprights headstone. There are 2845 war graves from the First World War and 14 war graves from the Second World War. Wimereux War Grave Cemetery is now called the Wimereux Communal Cemetery."

Thank you, @GrahamBuckell. I'll go check that out. I have confirmed that he wasn't buried in the cemetery close to his family home, and where his mother is buried.
