Moderator Question
How can you contact a moderator for this group with an issue that is occurring?
答え
-
Drop a line here, and flag it?
Do you still have issue's posting links?
0 -
Yes I am... now everytime I post a link it say something to the effect "Is awaiting approval" and then the message just disappears.
It seems that it is only happening when links are posted in the message.
I hesitate to flag the message because it only gives the option for spam or abuse. I don't want to add more problems to the issue

try this one, grab a testlink, cut/copy/paste it in the chatbox, but do not enter, move the cursor immidiately after placing to =>post comment, see what happens

OK, I'll try it here, just like you said. I'm going to paste the link and NOT hit enter and go directly to post comment

While the family search link worked this time, I just tried posting a link from OpenArch in the same way and it just disappeared after hitting post comment. I am noticing draft saving notices popping up quite often ( like every 30 seconds) Is there a way of turning this feature off or increasing the time between draft saves?

Try this one, first make a txt file only , simple plain text editor, like say notepad.(On your desktop)
copy the link of your target to that file and store it.Lake say an openarch link

Flawless.

No it did not work for me using the notepad technique. As soon as I copied it into the reply box and hit post comment, it disappeared and another notice saying will be reviewed.

So-simply put, you -"yourself" are under moderation and reviewed before posting,...not to imply that you need moderation,...but implying that you have requested it yourself on several occasions.
The moderators and filtering software are there for a reason. some links have attachments to them , like say gif's and animated grafic content ;design and lay-out that is copy-right protected and the sole-property of someone else then familysearch. But they "familysearch" are responsible for copyright violations...so they have to filter that element out,...which is very difficult.
I will give you an example.
Take the statue of liberty, or the Eiffel- tower, they are by their dates , or public appearance, age and legal status to be regarded as public domain, anyone can take a picture and anyone can make a reference on facebook or instagram.
But if a simple string of lightbulbs is added, along their appearance 5 years ago, that design will be protected by copyright laws from that day on.If that design originates the city of Paris itself, you will have to ask their permission to publish a picture.
Familysearch is protecting itself to copyright violations/infringments/,.. by avoiding links containing grafic content.

"but implying that you have requested it yourself on several occasions" I really have no idea what you mean by this.
All I have been trying to do is paste a link, which is what I have done countless times for years at this community group.
There is obviously a problem... and that is why I would like to contact a moderator... If one exists.

Now I am going to try a second link from open archives

I have found some abbreviations (J.D and J.M) on Marriage records which I am not certain what they mean. Hoping someone may know.
The couple I am researching are Antoni Blom (J.M) and Catrina Schook (J.D). I have found the church registry for the marriage, but I am trying to find out what these abbreviations mean.
Thanks for any help - Carl
