Where I can find New York Jewish records
Sigizmund Baranek born 1877 emigrated to New York. He arrived on 25/01/1906 with his wife and 1 daughter. The second child Estella was born in 1907 in New York. I have managed to find his declaration of intention in 1910 . After a while mother and 2 daughters returned to Poland as I was told the husband passed away and she could not support her family on her own.
I have tried to find his death certificate but it seems it does not exist.I have even tried paid genealogist who came empty handed.
Is is possible that he died and no death certificate was issued?
I will appreciate any information where to look next.

I would try the Guided Research for New York at https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/GuidedResearch:New_York.

Thank you very much for your guidance. Unfortunately every search result comes back to his naturalisation records and also to 1910 Manhattan census. In that census there are 4 of them.
Unless he changed his surname and that will be more difficult to find out what has happened.
My mother mentioned they came back in 1914 but during the was commercial transport was suspended. She remembered being in Warsaw in 1918 when Poland got independence.
As I mentioned I could only find his Intentions but not naturalisation papers so if he died it must have been between 1910 and 1914.
No luck with those dates.

If he is in New York City you might want to search the city directories to see when he drops out of them.

There is a data base managed by Todd Knowles called the Knowles Collection. It is online and has lots of information about Jewish people and their descendants. You might have a look and see if your family is included . Todd Knowles is a consultant on the British Floor at the Family history Library and has done lots of research and has lots of information. Hope he has something on your family.
