Trying to find Romania records
I have been trying to find Romanian records but have been told that the Romanian gov’t won’t let family search into the country to pboto records. True?

The FamilySearch Wiki is a good place to start. You'll find a few Romanian records on FS; some are on Ancestry and other sites. https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Romania_Online_Genealogy_Records

Yes, as far as I know, it is true that Romania does not have any filming or digitizing agreements with FamilySearch. Everything that FS has for places that are now in Romania is records that are held by/in other countries.
The Romanian National Archives is apparently in the process of digitizing and making available some of the vital records in their possession, but the website's in Romanian, which I don't know: https://descopera.arhivelenationale.ro/noutati/.
The other source I know of for records from now-Romania is the Transylvanian Genealogical Society. Unfortunately, their president and man-of-all-tasks passed away last fall, but it looks like his widow is carrying the work forward. I have no idea what languages she knows, but I suggest writing in whatever language you know, and letting her apply translators as needed.
