- ๐ช๏ธ Take a family photo: Get your smartphone out, and take a family photo in your backyard on the swing set, playing a favorite sport, making silly poses and faces, or with each person holding something important to them. You could also take a family photo at a nearby park, lake, or even a parking lot with a scenic view behind it. Take a serious one and a funny one.
- ๐ Go on a family history hunt: There are many different kinds, both online and in-person. Here are a few to try: A) Online Family Scavenger Hunt (see short and long list), B) Step-by-Step Guide to a Genealogical Treasure Hunt, or C) Family History Treasure Hunt.
- ๐๏ธ Share family stories while camping out in your living room, basement, or backyard: If you don't have a tent, you could even build a fort out of bed sheets and blankets in the living room. Each some family favorite snacks, stargaze, and share funny, silly, meaningful, and memorable family memories and stories. The cool thing is that you're making a fun family memory while you're sharing family memories!
- ๐ต Have a family karaoke night, and create your own family song. Find family-friendly songs on YouTube, create a makeshift microphone, even consider dressing up. Then, after you've practiced with some songs, consider making your own family song and recording it using a smartphone. You can share it with other family members. Click here for a fun example.
- ๐๏ธ Make a memory care package for a family member that lives far away. Have everyone contribute something to a special care package for a relative that lives far away. It can be a small care package of thank you and appreciation notes, include yummy family treats with the recipes, some family photos, young children could draw pictures, or anything else that helps the family member know they are loved and remembered.
