My grandmother (maternal) was told she was adopted from The Cleveland Protestant Orphan Asylum. Her
and she would always know where she came from. She (Thelma) went by DOB July 9, 1902
Her adopted name was Thelma St Clair Zell adopted parents Fred and Minnie Young Zell the lived in Youngstown Ohio.
She was not in the 1910 census in the Zell home but she she was in 1920. I cannot seem to find a census with her in it from the orphanage unless her name was changed.
She later in 1920 married my grandfather Harry Khale Goss
I have a maternal mtdna connection just not sure how - her name is Frieda Müller, b. 1890, d. 1980
Any ideas or help would be appreciated
Thank you

hi @DeborahAndio DeborahAndio :) do you know when she was adopted? what company did you test your DNA with? Is Frieda Muller the only "unknown" connection you have? what is the cm? have you been able to trace Friedas life in historical records to see if you can find anything you or your ancestors may have in common with her? Can you post a link to your grandmother's PID here
