He has not heard anything. Me!

I’m about at my wits end.

Awwww ! I was getting worried about you! I haven’t heard from you. So I figured you were prob taking a little break. When I get like that (my wits end) I try to use that energy to help others with their research. It gets my mind off my research problems and reignites any spark I may have burned out 😝

I can’t find any death certificate for Mae Cole. I did find the date of her then husband’s death (Forest F. Cole). I went to the county recorder in the hopes I could find other names in his death certificate. However, you must prove why you need the certificate. I can’t. But no record of the death of a Mae Cole.

Can you give my their birth dates and location? Also death dates and location?

I found a Forest F. Cole who died May 21, 1974. The county will not let me see the death certificate. In 1965, according to the directory, Forest I. and Mae lived at 3422 Hershey St. In her will, she mentions Lune and Alice Limber who lived at 3452 Hershey. In 1975, Forest F. lived at 9459 Mission Gorge Road, Santee. That address is now a trailer park. I’m thinking that might be her/him because two others named in her will also lived in Santee.

Where did you find her listed as Mae H.? Was there an address?

I believe Mae died in Santee. Might be wrong. I found a Mae Bingman who died in Santee in 1966. This is not our Mae. Our Mae died after 1975. The Will was dated Sep 19, 1975.

I found the Mae H., but after following the records I have concluded it is not our Mae. I will post the address, and link to the info. I was researching late into the night last night and found a lot of interesting things, nothing concrete or nothing to prove anything (may not even be the ones we’ searching for lol) I don’t remember any of the details as I was half asleep but I made notes for myself. I’ll have to gather it all and post here to see what you think.

@Jim Kilby i also tracked down the names of the ones she left the rest of her estate to, I haven’t found anything interesting there yet but just so y’all know, I’ve been searching non stop for the past few days lol. That’s why I haven’t been here in the group threads much over the past few days lol

Oh and yes remember seeing Hershey in one of the addresses I found yesterday. What county did Forest die? And are you certain her husbands name was forest?
0 -
@Jim Kilby This has been bothering me since we “met”... why would Mae track down Josephine and not Lois? Why would she not mention Lois to Josephine when they reconnected all those years later? I can’t make sense of that at all. Why would she mention Josephine in her will and not Lois (I was hoping one of the other names mentioned would turn out to actually be Lois... but I haven’t found anything to make any sort of connection .... yet

Yes, I believe so. If you look at Forest and Mae Cole’s 3422 Hershey Street address in the 1965 directory you will see that Lune and Alice Limber (named in the will) lived at 3452 Hershey.

Also, John Rigler, the son of Josephine, remembers visiting Mae in the early 1970s in Santee.

He died May 21, 1974 in Santee according to Social Security. San Diego County.

Carol was going to close this thread. I have a post on the new “Where’s Lois” thread.

Jim, the thread will still be readable, closing the thread just makes it so we can't post on this thread. The threads were getting too hard to navigate. I am not sure the best way to capture all of the clues in these posts, but I hope that you are making lots of notes! This particular thread isn't too long. We can still search through the comments. I was just closing the super long threads.

Ok wait! Could that be her? I saw a mention of someone named “Hale” in her will. But the spouse listed on that burial info isn’t Forest Cole. 🤷🏻♀️

Ok @Jim Kilby now I’m super confused. I have frank f and Mae H living at the same address in 1975, (one of the addresses that’s listed in her will). Then we have the burial record that names someone else as the spouse ? Mae H Cole

What burial record? Also, the will spells her name as Mae. But, we believe she died in Santee. That Santee address is now a trailer park.

Mae and May H. must be the same. We know her husband (or common law) was Forest. Too much of coincidence for a different set of Forest and Mae.

I’m going to call the cemetery tomorrow. This might be her.

It says spouse OR informant.

@Jim Kilby they shouldn’t give you a hard time about those records. I found this: California Vital Records
California birth, death, marriage and divorce records are maintained by the California Department of Public Health Vital Records (CDPH). While certified certificates are only available to family members, informational copies are available to anyone. Statewide recording of vital records began in 1905. For records prior to 1905, write to the clerk of the county in question.
Birth & Death Records
Birth and death records are available from the County Recorder's Office or the California Department of Public Health, Vital Records. Records for current year events and one year prior are available from the county health department in the jurisdiction where the event occurred, while records from all years are available from the proper county recorder.

The guy at the counter said I could only get the info if I was a family member. I’ll try again.

I replied to your post yesterday but I don’t see it. Anyway, I saw the post. I’m going to try and call the cemetery.
