Where is Senatean, France?

Where is Senatean, France?

In 1897, when admitted to prison, Louis Forrest reported that he was born in "Senatean, France", and that his mother was still alive and living in that city.

 

Can anyone help me find that city or location in France?

 

Perhaps the extraction is in error? Is the first letter of the city and "L", for example?

It sounds like Saint-Étienne to me, which wouldn't be super helpful, given there are at least 69 municipalities with that name in France and likely hundreds, if not thousands, of Catholic parishes:
