Austro Hungarian Military
I have been searching for the Grundbuchblatter for my Great Grandfathers Military Records. His name is Anton Rott born November 23, 1881 in Kuttenplaner Schmelzthal #30, Chodovska Hut, Cheb, Karlovarskykraj, Czech Republic. I think he passed away in 1941 but not 💯 certain as I do not have a death source. I know he was still alive in 1939 when he attended his daughter Johanna Rott’s wedding to George Nappert. Anton would have been in the IR 73 and enlisted in Eger. My Great Uncle Franz Rott born March 1, 1887 was in IR Kuk 7 and also can not find information on him. I find this whole process frustrating as I have never researched an ancestor in the military before. Any help would most definitely be appreciated.

Here's an article you need to read to get started. I have no experience with Czech Military research, but I found this guidance on the FamilySearch Research Wiki: http://www.iabsi.com/gen/public/ahm.html
There is also more guidance here: http://www.czechfamilytree.com/military.htm
You'll probably need to eventually go to the Family History Library to check out the microfilms in this collection: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/489271?availability=Family History Library
Good luck!
