when a person as a Findagrave memorial but Familysearch seemingly cannot find it...but it is there
Now and then I keep working on this and finally get it. I know I can move it from Ancestry to FS but I WANT FS to find it. there should be a way to put the person's memorial number into a FS search.

I find FS's handling of FindAGrave records to be really strange.
Even when a record is found, many don't have the given name.
I also can't find out how often FindAGrave is synched with FS.

I was told last year when I call about this that they do not sinc with FAG as regularly as we would hope...I don't know the delay or why. But I have created FAG for persons and it takes awhile for FS to access them....where as Ancestry seems to not have this problem. How can we hurry FS?

I forgot to say, when a fAG has an error or incomplete name you can edit it and add the correct info....and if the person's parents have FAG but they are not linked you can add that...just become a member of FAG. They appreciate when the memorials are made better. And if you can do a BIo submit it. the FAG memorial "owner" will then process what you send. Check who is the "owner" at the bottom of the page, If it is being managed by FAG, you and ask to manage it. They give you lots of help.

You can indeed find the Find A Grave record in FamilySearch if you have the memorial ID:
- Go to Search Historical Records
- In the "Find a Collection" drop down, choose "Find A Grave Index"
- In the "Restrict records by" section, choose "Affiliate Record Identifier"
- In the "Affiliate Record Identifier" field that then appears, type or paste the FAG memorial ID.
- Click "Search"
If the record exists in FS, this will find it. Of course, as you noted, the record may not yet have been synched to FS, but otherwise this technique will be helpful.
