What do you do if information appears to be crossed out or written over on a record?

The record in question has already been indexed, but I am trying to find more information on it to attach to my family tree. The writing that is over the information seems to have been added at a later date with a different writing utensil. Rachel, it is fine to use the birthplace you see in that column. The line would be some type of clerical recording or reviewing method, but the information is still good to use. More than likely the birth place of Helsingor is correct but it would be good to find the christening records to be sure. The birth dates are given so it will be a simple task.
