It appears the update is not complete even though the banners states it is.
One week a patron at our FSC can see a collection, then the next week not. Also, some collections show no viewing icons or a microfilm icon when microfilms are not available anymore. The camera icon with the warning triangle also has a message which says the collection is not available to view at this time. I have yet to see the old message that you can only see the images in an FSC. These things all seem to indicate the update is still in progress. It would sure be nice as a FamilySearch Center Coordinator to have a formal explanation from FS so we can help our patrons understand rather than them thinking that FamilySearch never works for them.

I would love to see a page listing all upcoming and recent updates, whether recent ones are final or still in progress, progress on reported issues, where to post feedback in each case, etc. I asked about this a while ago and got the impression it was on the list. Can't help thinking it would save FS staff time in the long/medium term, in addition to improving user perception, if they provided this sort of visibility.

I think they must have just finished doing the warning messages, because I've been getting them all day today where I have not been previously.

@S Vint Atkinson Thank you for reporting the issue you are having with the search. Can you post the URL and/or what record you are trying to search for that you are having difficulties with? This way I can better understand the problem?

@KAClark2 One set of collections that I have noted these issues is for Carini, Palermo, Sicily, Italy. For example, the Census Collection shows the format as Microfilm and the note is that they are available at the location indicated which is Granite Mountain Record Vault. I understand that public access to microfilm is not available any longer, let alone public access at Granite Mountain. The Stato Civile collection shows a few Camera icons under Format, but most are blank, so there is no access. Other collections have the Camera with warning icons that states that they are not available online at this time. Previously some collections were indicated as available only at FamilySearch Center, but do not indicate this right now. This all indicates to me that the Catalog updates are still in progress, so these collections are in flux. It would be terrific if there was a warning banner stating that the update is ongoing so some records are not available at the beginning of the Catalog Search page.

@S Vint Atkinson Thank you for the search information that you provided. I have escalated this issue for review. Please do not hesitate to advise us of other issues that you might come across.

Contracts and laws change; FamilySearch must comply with both. I have never seen a genealogy website give advance notice about an impending loss of access.

@S Vint Atkinson - I was able to get to the record set you asked about:
https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/catalog/747562
Does this look correct to you?

@IamMTW - This is not the record type collection I was looking for. It shows they are microfilms too, which are not accessible. The Carini Sicily collections of birth marriage and death records were previously visible in a FS Center. It seems these collections are still going through updating transitions.

@S Vint Atkinson - I want to be sure we are talking about the same "search " capabilities and looking in the correct database. Each "Search " option is a different database - which I know can be confusing.
When I use the drop down menu under SEARCH in FamilySearch and select "Images" I get this:
https://www.familysearch.org/en/records/images/search-results?place=7060683
When I select "Records" under that same menu, I get this:
The catalog entries appear to a variety of items:
If I select this in the catalog, I can get to the images but you are right - some are there and some are not or are locked:
Registri ecclesiastici di Carini (Palermo), 1527-1919
For instance - on one found that is there - when I go to page 3 and select "Matrimoni, null, 1945", I get these records:
https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/film/101270684?cat=2531935
Could you try this and see if you can get what you need by searching in the different databases (Records, Images, and catalog)?
Please let us know! Thanks for your continued patience and help!

@S Vint Atkinson There have been recent changes to the contracts covering many Italian collections. You'll find several discussions in the Italy Research Group.
