UI switches unexpectedly from Family Group to FamilySearch Tree
I thought I was in my Family Group Tree and added a few new living people as well as info in my own person page, but it turns out I added them to the FamilySearch Tree. I think I know how this happened:
When I am in my Family Group Tree — in any screen other than the pedigree — and I click on any of the menu items such as Tree or Private People, it goes to the FamilySearch Tree. (Even after setting my Family Group Tree as preferred.)
So I've been trying to copy over those people (from FamilySearch to Group). It copies over new people but not all of the changes such as name, birthdate, marriage events. It did copy a source document that I had uploaded.
On a related note, when I copy over a person (from FamilySearch to Group), then immediately click on the "view person list" dialog box that shows up, the screen goes back to the FamilySearch Tree private person list.

@MindaJStiles Are you able to tell us the steps that you are taking and possible include screenshots of the error? Can you also include what operating system and browser you are using?

I have the same exact problem. FS jumps out of Group Tree to my Personal Tree without notice. Group Tree is a disaster. The only solution is to enter everyone as "deceased." This is psychologically difficult for me but a simple and workable solution to sharing information. Folks not sharing will not see this and ones that do share can change the setting or accept the workaround as they see fit.

@Donald Findley Switlick Please do NOT enter everyone as "deceased." That will make all these living people public to everyone — it is not true that "Folks not sharing will not see this," since all deceased persons become part of the public part of Family Tree. You will just be creating a lot of administrative work, since every one of these living people will need to be marked as living again, and during the time that they are marked deceased, their personal details will be visible, which is a violation of their privacy.
