Better memories sharing inside family groups
Although I have gone out of my way to set up a group, upload hundreds of photos, walk people through accepting the invite, etc., I have practically no engagement on my group.
I followed up with my sister recently who told me she never figured out where to go to see the pictures. I've specifically explained to some that the photos are on the people and they can sometimes find albums from there if they want to see more similar photos by accessing an album from a photo they find.
And yes, I already made albums for many of them and tagged them to the people.
Here are some possible improvements/features.
- Tagging specific albums to specific groups so they show in a feature panel/widget.
- Automatically adding recently uploaded photos to the group feed? There would need to be a toggle for this I think, or some settings, because people would not want it for everything they upload.
- Somehow combining the post engagements with the photo engagements. Right now posts and their features and individual pages where photos are stored and their engagement features are not linked from what I see. Maybe comments on a post should cross over to be a comment on the actual photo too, for example? Then again, I could see arguments against this as well.
All in all, these may not be the best ideas, but the situation is clear. Engagement is difficult.

@Michael W. McCormick Thank you for your input on memories not effectively engaging your family. I will send your thoughts on memories to the team that works on this product. In the meantime, have you tried using the Together by FamilySearch app? It has notifications for new posts and stories in your Family Groups that pop up on your mobile device just like a text message or email.
