I am interested in using family history as a proselyting tool, too, please. @Brett, perhaps you could put your information on this in this thread for everyone?

Brett, I'd be interested as well.
For me (didn't go on a mission, and "missionary" work is a bit difficult (I lost my last job in part because I mentioned a part of the gospel in a meeting once).
For me, this seems to be an EASY way to introduce Heavenly Father's plan of happiness by striving to have all His children come home, through our faithful effort to find our ancestors and serve them. Everyone has a family, and everyone seeks happiness. (Whether doing family history work is happy family work is an individual choice, but truly "turning your heart" towards your ancestors helps bring acceptance of oneself (not by blaming your ancestors for your problems :-) ) , as well as gain more empathy for their trials and tribulations.
It just seems to me, that when someone asks you why you do family history work, bringing up the importance of family is very attractive, and leads to more questions.
So even a "non-missionary missionary" can catch that spirit.

Brett, could we all get a look at the answer to this vital question here where we can see it? It was a topic brought up in a meeting we had just last evening at the Elder's Quorum meeting we were asked to attend.
Statistically the majority of people who use our family history centers are not LDS. Need to know the ways to help with this
Thanks

I have made cards that have our FHC address and the times that it is open that the missionaries pass along as they tract. It opens the door in many cases when people are doing family history and didn't realize we have a center in our town. That alone can open up questions on why our religion does so much family history, etc.

I might add that the missionaries will invite them to the center and let them know that we can make an appointment with them. The missionaries will come with them and introduce us to make it more comfortable for the people.

The missionaries in our area have been using the app, Find a Name on door approaches. They are having some success. It sparks better conversations, allows them to give a different approach with individuals that have been contacted before. Most people are interested in their family!

Could you help me understand what Find a Name is in this context? I found an app called Take a Name, which is similar in function to Ordinances Ready. But even then, I'm not sure how either of those would be used in a missionary context with potential investigators. I couldn't find "Find a Name" either.
