Translation help please
I'm trying to understand this birth record for Maria Justina Samuel.
Please translate the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lines of the record. Does it name her father?
Her mother and grandmothers are listed, but the pastor listed is not her father (according to other records). (I believe he is her uncle, who was pastor of this parish.)
Thank you for any insight you can give me!

The 1842 death record for Johann Wilhelm Conrad looks like it says his mother is from "Hild—" which might be Hildesheim?

Hello @CherylMillerBlack,
The fourth, fifth, and sixth lines of this record identify the parents of Maria Justina Samuel:
Der Vater ist der Pastor Carl Fried: Lud: Samuel und den Mutter Dorothea Elisabetha geb: Wiesener = The father is the Pastor Carl Friedrich Ludwig Samuel and the mother Dorothea Elisabetha née Wiesener.
The first three lines state she was born on the 17th of ______? at night at 1 o'clock and was baptized on the 19th of the same month by a person named Ol_kers? I can't decipher what comes before "Ol_kers" in the third line.
Comment: I am not sure of the birth month —it's difficult to read.

Thank you so much!
It makes a puzzle for me (because I thought her dad was someone else) but at least now I know. :)

You're very welcome, @CherylMillerBlack.
Yes I found Maria Justine Samuel's record (G1D7-4V2) in FamilySearch Family Tree and realized you had a puzzle on your hands based on the father she is currently attached to.
Good luck with the ongoing research.

Here is my transcription of the full record:
and the translation:
Maria Justina Samuel was born on the 17th of November at 1 o'clock in the night and baptised on the 19th of the same month by the Magister(?) Olkers(?). The father is the pastor Carl Friedrich Ludwig Samuel and the mother Dorothea Elisabeth née Wiesener. The godparents are the two grandmothers Maria Justina Samuel and Anna Maria Wiesener, but because both godparents could not be present, Mrs Magister Olkers was kind enough to hold the child over the baptism(al font).
Comment: The word before the name "Olkers" of the baptiser is not fully clear, but I believe it is Magister (master), an academic title for the cleric. According to the custom of the time, his wife (who held the child over the bapitismal font) was given the same title: Mrs Magister Olkers.

Note that the "initials" of the father in the death record of Maria Justina stand for "Hl. P." = hochlöblichen Pastor, highly laudable pastor, not given names.

Thank you so much. I have been stewing over this for the last day and wondered if this was the case—the "initials" were some kind of title and not a given name. Those same initials are used in 3 other birth records, as well as Maria Justina's death record.
My biggest issue now is that I thought this pastor had a different wife (not Dorothea Elisabeth Wisener). I have not found any record of the death of Dorothea. But I assume a second marriage would have happened at the bride's home parish, and I don't know where it is. :)
I really appreciate your help, Robert and Ulrich. :)

Yes! I had noticed that too. Unfortunately there are many parishes in Hildesheim. I've been working on Archion, and none of the parishes have digitized records. :(
Are there other good sources for German records?
