10 groups total will not be enough

So I just got notified that I was accepted into the CET test. I went to the CET page and was surprised that I could only upload a gedcom, and the upload button was greyed out. As I was reading the getting started page I noted that it looked just like the Family Groups page. I left one of my 10 Family Groups and now the Upload Gedcom button is blue. That would indicate that CET groups are counted along with the Family Groups with a limit of 10 groups total.

If the limit is 10 total groups across Family Groups, Family Groups with trees and CET Groups…that will not be enough.

I don't personally need to create a CET for my entire ancestry, much of it is correct in FamilySearch. But there are a few places where I'm working on brick walls or the FamilySearch tree is so confused that I need to keep my research separate until it is all clear. That means several CET groups.

If I am sharing those problem spots with different parts of my family, different researchers will need to access different tree pieces…

If I was interested in building a DNA tree down from a single ancestor, that would be another tree entirely…

and what if as a consultant I am asked to help someone with their CET? I understand that Helper mode doesn't include access to Family Groups. Does it include access to CETs?

Just for an idea, I have 51 trees that I own on Ancestry.com and another 34 that I have been invited to help with. I don't know that you need to allow that many groups…but 10 total across Family Groups and CETs is simply not enough.

Thank you for letting us know how many trees you have on Ancestry. We have set the number of CETs + Groups to 10 during this early testing phase. One of our tasks is to determine what the correct number should be and make those changes prior to a feature launch.

We obviously cannot rigidly specify how users make use of these trees, but there is a sense that CETs could, for most, represent the trees in which they do all their best and permanent work, rather than just using these for temporary theoretical tree building.

I really appreciate all your various use cases. This is a solid and valuable bit of user feedback.

I would love for other to chime in with thoughts on 1) what the number of allowed trees should be & 2) What are the various use cases under which you would create a CET.
