I think these cemeteries in Hartford City, Indiana might need to be merged.

There seems to be a conflict between the

“Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Hartford City, Blackford, Indiana, United States” (an accepted location) and the 

“Hartford City Cemetery, Hartford City, Blackford, Indiana, United States” (a provisional location)

 

This headstone is shown in both BillionGraves Index and Find a Grave index.

 

Billion graves identifies it as being in the IOOF Cemetery:

Find a Grave identifies it as being in the “Hartford City Cemetery”:

The only entrance to the cemetery has stone monuments on each side of the road identifying it as the IOOF Cemetery:

I couldn’t find any references to where the provisional “Hartford City Cemetery” name came from. It is maintained by the Hartford City Cemetery Association (see above image), so maybe that’s where it came from. 

 

In any event, if the name “Hartford City Cemetery” is real and unique now to the old IOOF Cemetery, then it should either be given the same coordinates as the IOOF Cemetery (40.4486, -85.3511), or be assigned as an alternate name to it.

 

Also the “Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Hartford City, Blackford, Indiana, United States” ALSO shows up as “Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Licking Township, Blackford, Indiana, United States”, So I’m not sure if it was always within the town of Hartford City.

I have merged the two cemeteries. Hartford City Cemetery is also known as the IOOF Cemetery. The cemetery is now known as the Hartford City Cemetry -- Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery.
