Retzlaff name discrepancies
I never know if I should ask my questions here or in the Poland group…I am having difficulty determining whether these are the correct people or if they are just different names for the same people.My third great-grandfather, Christian Friedrich August Jonathan Retzlaff (LT2S-654), was born in Alt Storkow in 1835. I don't know when he died. His parents are Carl Ludwig Retzlaff (G2Q6-FH7) and Marie Friedricke Wilhelmine Höfs (G2Q6-88Y).There is a death record for another Christian, Friedrich August Jonathan Retzlaff, who was born at the same time but with different parents listed. That record says he died in 1907 in Nörenberg.

They are listed as Christian Retzlaff as the father and Charlotte Retzlaff (but I cannot read what it says her maiden name was on the certificate).I wouldn't have thought that his name would be common… Then his sister Auguste Bertha Luise Wilhelmine Retzlaff born in Henkenhagen—has a record with her father as August Retzlaff and the mother Wilhelmine Höfs (which is correct)

The 1907 death record for Christian Friedrich August Jonathan Retzlaff states that he is the son of Christian Retzlaff and Charlotte Strassenburg.
This death record has been attached as a memory to Christian Friedrich August Jonathan Retzlaff (LT2S-654) but the parents in this record don't match the parents in the death record.
This death record should actually be attached to Christian Friedrich August Jonathan Retzlaff (MZ4D-NFJ) whose parents are Christian Friedrich Retzlaff and Charlotte Strassenberg.
There is a source already attached to Christian Friedrich August Jonathan Retzlaff (MZ4D-NFJ) in FSFT which records his birth date as 29 December 1834. This is the same date as is written in the right-hand margin of the 1907 death record.
Then you need to compare MZ4D-NFJ and LT2S-654 to determine if this is the same person, and if so you should consider merging the records.

Is there a record that shows his parents are Carl Ludwig Retzlaff (G2Q6-FH7) and Marie Friedricke Wilhelmine Höfs? I only see a birth record and death record showing parents are Christian Friedrich Retzlaff and Charlotte Strassenberg.
@BethanyHabisch , Added note: I happened upon this record. I'm wondering if whomever added the bio misread the maiden name as Naastenburg vs. Strassenberg. The bio mentions the page number where the death is recorded (in Gienow I assume). It might be worthwhile trying to locate the death record and/or contacting the person who added the bio.

@JohnsonGreg I have Christian's marriage record, and I thought it had his father's name on it… but it turns out it didn't.

I do know that his son, Hermann (my second great-grandfather), was also born in Gienow.The record says:
Hausmann Christian Friedrich August Jonathan Retzlaff from Gienow, age 26, father gave verbal consent, married on 2 Apr. 1861 in Gienow Ida Auguste Albertine Freitag, age 27, daughter of Luise Freitag married bricklayer Albrecht.His age puts his year of birth in 1835… I haven't found birth records for Alt Storkow yet
